Song of the Soul invites you to a soul-level encounter. Music has the ability to proclaim the soul's language beyond what mere words can speak. That's what we seek as we invite our guests to share their Song of the Soul. You will hear the music that has charted the steps of their spiritual journey, that has provided a touchstone in the soul's dark night, and sung the hearts awe and joy when come to the Light. As you listen to Song of the Soul, you are both witness and companion to our guest's spiritual path and sacred testimony.
Song of the Soul guests provide 20-23 minutes of the music of their soul, and Mark Helpsmeet explores with them the relevance and meaning of this music to their experience. Most guests are musicians, usually sharing their own music, but some guests are simply sharing music they've been impacted by, written and performed by others.

Jim Schacht's Song of the Soul
Jim Schacht is a music lover, grew up loving and sharing music with his parents and siblings, and has been accompanying the Quakers of Milwaukee Friends Meeting on his guitar as they sing together before worship, for most of the past 20 years.
Bruce Judkins' Song of the Soul
Bruce Judkins was raised Catholic but didn't really "catch" religion till he was 35. In the meantime he served in the US Air Force, had 2 failed marriages and had serious drinking and drug issues. At 35 he knelt and asked for Jesus to come into his heart, and it changed his life.
Debi McClain's Song of the Soul
Debi McClain's is a joyful person with what many people might consider to be a rough life. When she was quite young she fell ill and her young parents were unable to care for her, so she spent six years in the care of her great-grandparents. More recently, in 2000, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, a life-threatening and life-changing disease, yet her outlook is clearly upbeat and grateful for each day
Chester McCoy's Song of the Soul
Chester McCoy grew up Catholic in a working class neighborhood of St Louis when segregation was still the rule. His way out of the limitations and oppression of racism was through education, social work and his his rich connections with people, including college at St John's in Collegeville, Minnesota. Chester has been writing songs for about 30 years now, and is a Quaker, a member of Minneapolis Friends Meeting.
Savannah Rhae's Song of the Soul
Savannah Rhae chose the name she now carries, just as she has self-examined and chosen to be the person she is in other ways. Raised Methodist, she is currently a member of Unity Christ Center in Eau Claire.
Jeremy Kadinger's Song of the Soul
Jeremy Kadinger has a special relationship with music as a Christian DJ. He does weekly music radio shows with WRJF-LP in Menomonie and WHYS-LP in Eau Claire. A member of the Jesus Fellowship of Believers in Menomonie, Jeremy is an energic and devoted disciple, father and husband.
James Schattauer's Song of the Soul
James Schattauer has been writing and performing songs since 1979 or even before, and since 1987 has used the moniker Mister Jim for his performances for children and families.
