Tony Schultz of Stoney Acres Farm CSA was a fiery speaker at the 3/12/11 Farmer/Union Demonstration in Madison, WI. He's active with the Land Stewardship Project and Family Farm Defenders.

Sam Thayer's 1st book was Forager's Harvest and his new book is Nature's Garden, invaluable info on getting to the heart of nature through our stomachs. Jim Backus has released 4 books this past year with stunning photography and simple, compelling prose, leading us to connect with the Earth and its animals. In December he released 2 Voyage Into Nature collections and New Pack on the Prairie, a children's story based on photographs of a wolf pack in North Dakota.

A brief visit with Michael L. Robins, author of Awakening: 13 Steps to Love, Freedom, and Power, entered in the Next Top Spiritual Author Contest, and with Jon Nelson, author of Quetico: Near to Nature's Heart about Quetico Provincial Park.

Michele (C.M.) Harris has written a probing and powerful novel involving issues of sexual identity, pacifism and toxicity in the environment over the past 100 years. With multiple protagonists facing a world that is judgmental to gay/lesbian/trans/pacifist people, Michele takes us for a walk in the shoes of the "other", helping us to understand the issues from many directions.

A visit with 3 folks with the ENPH program - Environmental Public Health - at UW-EC, a training ground for professionals working with the intersection of public health and the environment. Crispin Pierce is the director of the program and Caleb Johnson and Patrick Bloecher are seniors in the program. At the same time they do the public work with ENPH, they are transformed personally by the experience.
